What Drives the Price of a CNC Machining Quote from China?
Five things set the price of a CNC part: material and stock size, machining time and number of setups, tolerances and inspection, surface finish, and quantity. Programming and setup are a fixed cost, so one part carries all of it, while an order of 10 or 100 parts spreads it across every piece. List each quantity you are considering in the project details and we quote them side by side.
- Material and stock size: the grade you specify and the size of blank it is cut from.
- Machining time and setups: each extra orientation adds fixturing and machine time. 5-axis machining can cut setups on complex parts.
- Tolerances and inspection: ±0.05 mm is our standard band. Tighter features down to ±0.01 mm and CMM reports add time.
- Surface finish: anodizing, plating, passivation, powder coating or polishing are quoted per specification.
- Quantity: setup is a fixed cost per batch, so unit price falls as quantity rises.

How Long Does CNC Machining in China Take, and Who Pays Shipping?
Standard CNC lead time is 10 to 15 days from order confirmation, and 7 days is the fastest turnaround for a small (mini) order. Surface finishing and freight are added on top. Parts are export-packed and shipped by courier or freight, depending on size, weight and urgency.
- Trade terms are on the quote: we confirm the Incoterm before you order, so it is clear who pays freight, import duty and local taxes.
- EXW or FOB: the buyer arranges or pays international freight and pays import duty and taxes on arrival.
- DDP: the seller delivers to your door with duties paid.
- US and EU buyers: import duty and VAT or sales-tax rules depend on your country and the part's tariff code. Check current rates with your customs broker.
What Should You Send for an Accurate CNC Quote?
A 3D model, a 2D drawing, and a few details. With these we can quote in one pass, without a round of questions.
- 3D model: STEP, STP, IGES, X_T or STL.
- 2D drawing: PDF or DWG with tolerances, GD&T, threads and finish notes. Untoleranced dimensions follow ISO 2768 as the reference.
- Material grade: for example 6061-T6 aluminum or 304 stainless steel.
- Quantities: one or several, such as 1, 10 and 100.
- Surface finish, delivery country and target date.
